Frequently asked questions

Leave your name and phone number in the form, and a manager will call you back to agree the date and the details. A booking becomes valid once you pay the deposit - the manager tells you the amount before the booking is confirmed - and your place in the group is held only after the manager confirms it. So a form on the site is not yet a booking. Our office hours are Mon-Fri 9:00-18:00 and Saturday 10:00-15:00.

We meet in the centre of Uzhhorod, on Koriatovych Square; the exact meeting point is listed on each tour page. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start - the group does not wait for latecomers. The exact start time is confirmed by the manager when you book: we do not publish it, because it depends on the date and the group.

Between 2 and 8 hours, depending on the format. The walking routes around the centre - «Uzhhorod, an ancient town on foot», the evening walk, and the coffee-and-mini-sculptures tour - run for 2 hours. The night-time drive tour takes 3 hours. The longest one here is the 8-hour bus tour «Uzhhorod and Its Surroundings», which leaves the city for the Horiany Rotunda.

There are 7 routes here, priced from 300 to 2700 UAH per person. The price covers the excursion service, the work of the guide, and transport on those routes that use a bus. Entrance tickets are paid separately, and in Uzhhorod that matters: the castle, the Old Village open-air museum and the city museums each have their own ticket desk. Meals and personal spending are extra.

Because that one is quoted per order, and it has no fixed per-person price - which is exactly why the card says «On request» rather than a figure. To get the cost, send an enquiry: the manager will ask for the date, the number of people and the kind of photo session, then quote you. The duration is agreed the same way.

Yes - that is what the private tours with a personal guide are for: the route, the date and the guide are chosen for you. Leave your contacts in the private tour form and a manager will call to agree the details. If there are many of you, note the 10% discount for groups of 7 people or more. The team quests through old Uzhhorod (550 UAH) are also built for a single group.

Yes, children are welcome. Under-14s take part only when accompanied by an adult, and children under 12 have a separate price, calculated from the adult fare - so tell the manager your children's ages when you book, to get the sum right. With small children the 2-hour walking routes around the centre work better than the 8-hour bus tour.

No, tours run in any weather. Bring comfortable shoes, clothing suited to the forecast, and water; on the walking routes you are on your feet for the full 2 hours, so footwear matters most. A light rain jacket is worth packing. If the weather turns badly and you are having doubts, call the manager during office hours, Mon-Fri 9:00-18:00 or Sat 10:00-15:00.

Excursions in Uzhhorod - where bold dreams come true

Excursions in Uzhhorod come down to the seven routes gathered on this page, and all of them are city routes: on foot or by bus through the centre and the nearest surroundings, with no long transfers. Prices run from 300 to 2,700 UAH per person and the routes last from 2 to 8 hours. Choose by format rather than by price: the town is small but it looks entirely different in the morning, in the evening and at night, and how many hours you give it matters more than the figure on the card.

Two-hour routes are the backbone of the catalogue. The sightseeing walk «Uzhhorod, an ancient town on foot» costs 300 UAH: in two hours you cover the castle, the Old Village open-air museum, Korzo street, the Czech quarter, the synagogue and the sakura alley. It is the cheapest and the most sensible first step if you are here for the first time and do not know where to start. «Uzhhorod: coffee and mini-sculptures» also runs two hours, but costs 1,300 UAH and tells a different story: the cafés of the old town, the Under the Castle café-museum, the Uzh embankment and Teatralna Square. The evening walking excursion (1,500 UAH, 2 hours) is the same town under lights, with its lanes, squares and castle legends, and it is usually taken by people who have already seen the centre by day.

Next by length comes the three-hour night drive, «Uzhhorod by night», at 2,700 UAH: Petofi Square, the castle, the panorama of the city lights and the lights of the border. It is the priciest item here, and since it is a driving format there is almost no walking involved. The one long route stands apart: the 8-hour bus excursion «Uzhhorod and Its Surroundings» at 600 UAH. It leaves the centre for the Horiany Rotunda and adds the mini-sculptures, Zakarpattian coffee and the thermal pools. In hours per hryvnia it is the most generous offer on the page, but be realistic: eight hours with small children is a full day, and a two-hour walk through the centre is far easier on them.

Two formats fall outside the usual schedule logic. The team quests through old Uzhhorod, at 550 UAH, are built for your own group, with riddles and town secrets rather than a guide walking ahead of a crowd. And «Uzhhorod with a photographer» is quoted on request: it has no fixed per-person price because everything is calculated for the particular order - the manager asks for the date, the number of people and the kind of shoot, and only then names the price and the length. If you would rather walk with your own company and nobody else, there are private excursions with a personal guide, where the route, the date and the guide are chosen for you.

The practical side is the same for all seven. We meet in the centre, on Koriatovych Square, with the exact spot given on each excursion page. Be there no later than ten minutes before the start: the group does not wait for latecomers. We deliberately do not publish exact start times on the site - they depend on the date and the make-up of the group, so the manager confirms them separately when you book. A request on the site is not yet a booking: the booking exists once the manager has confirmed the date and you have paid the 50% deposit.

About money, plainly and in advance. The price covers the excursion service, the work of the guide, and transport where the route uses a bus. Entrance tickets are paid separately, and in Uzhhorod that is a noticeable item: the castle, the Old Village museum and the museums all have their own ticket desks. Meals and personal spending are extra as well. Children under 14 take part only in the company of an adult, and children under 12 have their own price calculated from the adult one, so give their ages as soon as you book. Groups of seven or more get 10% off, which is exactly where the quests and the bus route pay off.

Weather does not cancel anything: the excursions run in any conditions. On the walking routes you are on your feet for the full two hours, so comfortable shoes matter more than anything else, along with clothing for the weather, water and a raincoat in reserve. If the weather turns sharply and you start having doubts, call the manager - he is available.

We are a licensed tour operator based in Uzhhorod: licence AE No. 185601 of 06.12.2012, working since 2008, rated 4.9 on Google with 650+ reviews. Excursions from Uzhhorod are led by guides who live here - they do not recite a guidebook, they show the town they walk every day and have taken groups along the same lanes for years. Our office is at 3 Korzo Street, minutes from the meeting point, open Mon-Fri 9:00-18:00 and Sat 10:00-15:00. If you cannot decide, leave a request describing how many of you there are and how much time you have, and a manager will suggest a format and name the free dates.
