Morskie Oko is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Europe, set in the Polish Tatras near Zakopane. Its crystal-clear water, encircled by the sheer peaks of Tatra National Park, makes this place the main tourist attraction of the Polish part of the Tatras. A one-day trip from Uzhhorod lets you see the lake without paying for a hotel and without taking several days off - the coach leaves in the morning, the border crossing is handled as a group, and by the evening you are already home.
The path to the lake from the car park is a pleasant walk along a paved avenue by the forest, manageable even without special physical fitness; if you prefer, you can ride up by horse-drawn cart. Zakopane, Poland's most famous mountain resort, is the natural gateway to Morskie Oko: here you can see traditional Tatra architecture and feel the atmosphere of a mountain town, if the route allows.
