1. The city of the legendary “Women of Eger”
In 1552, it was the women defenders together with the local residents who helped hold Eger Fortress against a huge Ottoman army. This story became a symbol of Hungarian courage.
2. Birthplace of the famous “Bull’s Blood” wine (Egri Bikavér)
Eger is famous for its vineyards. The local red blended wine Bikavér is one of the most renowned wines of Hungary. The city has the “Valley of the Beautiful Women” - a district with dozens of wine cellars.
3. Eger Fortress - one of the best preserved in Hungary
It offers a panorama over the whole city, and inside there is a museum dedicated to the history of the defence against the Turks.

Your place in the group is secured only after the manager confirms it. The prepayment depends on the product and we tell you the amount before we confirm your booking.
Running the excursion
The excursion runs in any weather. Please arrive at the meeting point 10-15 minutes before departure.
Cancellation by the client
Cancellation:
- more than 2 calendar days before the tour starts - we retain 10 % of the price;
- less than 2 calendar days - 50 %;
- no-show without notice - 100 %.

Frequently asked questions
Bathing in the thermal pools of Eger runs from 15:00 to 18:00. Bring swimwear, a towel and a pair of pool shoes.
The programme includes a tasting of palinka in a historic "palinka pharmacy", or of wines in the cellars of the region's leading winemakers - among them the famous Egri Bikavér (Bull's Blood). Traditional Hungarian dishes can be ordered if you wish.
Departure from Uzhhorod is at 05:30, followed by the border crossing. The group leaves Eger at 18:00 and returns to Uzhhorod at roughly 23:00 - the whole trip lasts about 18 hours.
It departs on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, with pick-up available in Uzhhorod, Mukachevo and Berehove.
