Hike to Hoverla + Lakes in Solotvyno, Transcarpathia

You will travel across the whole of Transcarpathia, learning and seeing much of interest: the «Red Field» near Khust, Tiachiv - the town of the Transcarpathian Romanians, the geographical centre of Europe in Dilove, and the only Museum of Mountain Ecology in Ukraine. A most thrilling adventure awaits you - the ascent of Hoverla!

The hike to Hoverla: the programme
Day 1

• 04:30 - departure from Uzhhorod .
• A stop near Khust. The «Red Field» - the history of Carpatho-Ukraine.
• Transfer to Khust. Delicious Transcarpathian coffee and amazing Transcarpathian pastries in a cafe in the town centre.
• Tiachiv. An excursion around the town centre.
• Solotvyno. Bathing in the salt lakes.
• Transfer to the Rakhiv area, the most mountainous district, with amazingly beautiful mountain scenery.
• The largest waterfall in Transcarpathia - Trufanets.
• Rakhiv - the centre of the Transcarpathian Hutsul region
• A visit to Ukraine’s only Museum of Mountain Ecology and the History of Nature Use in the Ukrainian Carpathians.
• A stop in the village of Dilove. The geographical centre of Europe.
• A stop by a mineral spring.
• Transfer to Lazeshchyna. Accommodation, dinner.

Day 2

• Breakfast.
• Transfer to the highland meadow.
• The ascent of Hoverla. The climb to the summit with an instructor is estimated at approx. 3 hours. Incredible mountain panoramas! Peaks shrouded in blue-grey mist, the sun hidden somewhere behind them, and the clouds - you can touch them with your hand!
• On the summit stand symbols: a cross, a sculptural monument with the Ukrainian coat of arms, the flag of Ukraine and of other states whose representatives have been here, and a slab into which capsules of soil from all the regions of Ukraine have been mounted.
• A photo to remember - a must!
• Return to Uzhhorod (approx. at 22:00).
