Tour programme
- 10:30 - The group gathers; meeting the tourists at Uzhhorod railway station with a representative of the tour operator "Pro Karpaty".
- A guided walk through the historic centre of ancient and forever young Uzhhorod , (if nature is kind to us, you will see the city wrapped in cherry blossom). The little streets of Uzhhorod, keeping traces of all manner of styles and epochs, lead us on through the soft pink haze of Japanese cherry blossom, accompanied by the aroma of coffee and the chiming of churches and cathedrals of different denominations.
- Getting acquainted with the city's charming bronze mini sculptures.
- A visit to the city's cosy coffee houses and a t asting of genuine Transcarpathian coffee. It is not for nothing that they say Lviv is famous for its coffee houses, and Uzhhorod for its coffee.
- Getting acquainted with a sacred landmark of Ukraine - the oldest working church, dating from the 11th century.
- Getting acquainted with the legendary ethno-restaurant "Detsa u notaria" : the story of how it came about, its distinctive Transcarpathian humour and the colourful biography of its owner.
- Lunch
- Bathing in the thermal springs at the "Zolota Hora" ranch
- 17.00 - return to Uzhhorod. Check-in at the hotel.
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Free time.
- Optional: an excursion to Synevyr (UAH 950 per person).
- Transfer to Pylypets to the picturesque Shypit waterfall. On the way the group will see a magnificent mountain panorama and hear the old legends and tales of the mysterious Carpathians.
- Not far from Shypit, a chairlift ride up to the alpine meadows of Borzhava, to Mount Hymba, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the Carpathians. The mountain is 1,300 metres above sea level, the lift is 1,600 metres long, and the ride up takes 15 minutes.
- Lunch at a kolyba. For the full experience we recommend the dishes of Hutsul cuisine.
- An excursion to the Mizhhiria national reserve to the highland lake Synevyr .
- An excursion to the rehabilitation centre for bears. It was built in the middle of the Carpathian mountains in the Mizhhiria area. It covers 14 hectares. The sanctuary is designed for thirty bears. Each has been given its own den, indistinguishable from a natural one. The dens are dug into the ground and lined inside with moss and roots. There are several artificial lakes on the grounds where the bears bathe.
- Return to Uzhhorod .
- Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out.
- An excursion to the Valley of Daffodils , if they are in bloom by then; if not - bathing in the thermal pools of Rikka Khust.
- The Valley of Daffodils is 257 hectares sown with tiny white stars, and a heady scent in the air. Nowadays wild daffodil meadows are found only on alpine pastures. They reached the valley of the Khustets River many thousands of years ago, escaping the glacier.
- Lunch at the "Kolyba opryshkiv". The finest dishes of Transcarpathian cuisine.
- Transfer to the village of Iza, where you can see and buy unique willow-wicker pieces made by folk craftsmen.
- A tour of the unique farm beyond the village of Iza, where spotted deer have settled in beautifully . These lovely animals are so used to people that they eat from your hand and gladly pose for photos with visitors.
- A visit to the dairy in the village of Nyzhnie Selyshche. Here, using an old Swiss method, they make some of the best organic cheeses in Ukraine. Visitors are treated to a tour where you can learn everything about cheese, and also taste and buy the different varieties of Selyshche cheese: "Nartsys", "Khust" and "Selyskyi".
- 18:00 - transfer to the railway station station of Mukachevo.
- 19:00 - transfer to Uzhhorod railway station.
