Tour programme
10:30 - Group meeting at Uzhhorod railway station, where guests are met by a representative of the Pro Karpaty tour operator.
Departure for the excursion.
An easy and beautiful excursion to the Voievodyno resort: "Schönborn Park, horses and trout".
Take a break from the bustle, forget about work and all your errands, and rediscover the carefree feeling of childhood that brings genuine joy and delight in life. The Voievodyno resort is exactly the place to immerse yourself in the inimitable nature of the Carpathians, and also to feel like true Austrian aristocrats and enjoy the touch of caring human hands upon nature - Schönborn Park. It was restored only recently, after so many years of neglect.
A tour of the park grounds. An introduction to the history of Transcarpathia across different historical periods.
Free time - a stroll around the beautiful Tur lake.
Next you can go fishing - catching river rainbow trout . While you walk along the fish ponds, the fish you have caught will be cooked wonderfully well at the "Hungry Trout" restaurant.
Bathing in vats with bischofite.
Trout lunch.
A visit to the stables. Horse riding or a carriage ride.

Breakfast at the hotel.
Optional: an interesting excursion to Romania (extra charge 2500 UAH / person)
On this fascinating and very full excursion programme we invite you to visit neighbouring Romania, where colourful and mysterious Transylvania will open up before you. What do we associate Romania with? The dictator Ceaușescu, the "Dacia" car, colourful Roma people, the dream of Soviet citizens - Romanian furniture, the mystical Count Dracula. Sadly, this fascinating country still remains Terra incognita for many. On our excursion we will break down the established stereotypes and show you a successful, developed European country that treats its unique and distinctive culture with great care.
You will visit a unique cemetery in one of Romania's villages. The "Merry Cemetery" in Romania has become not merely a local landmark but a genuine part of world heritage. It is remarkable above all for its positive, philosophical and poetic attitude towards death, so uncharacteristic of European traditions in which death is perceived as an invariably tragic and gloomy event, worthy only of mourning and sorrow. The "Merry Cemetery" is an open-air museum where you can fully absorb the strong, carefree spirit of ordinary people expressed through art. Strangely enough, people come to this abode of the dead to reaffirm their love of life. There is also a working church here, likewise decorated with "merry" mosaics and crowned with a tower with a colourful roof. This is something you simply must see with your own eyes!
You will visit an astonishingly peaceful place - the Peri monastery - and see the tallest wooden church in Europe (76 m!).
You will get to know the well-kept Romanian villages. The Romanian village ... Old wooden houses, barns and stables with charming shingled roofs; wooden gates decorated with carved hearts, tulips and stars. Sledges hang on the barns - in winter horses are harnessed to them to bring hay down from the mountain meadows to the village; on the verandas, tied with string, strings of red peppers dry; beehives stand in the gardens. Here and there among the trees lie barrels in which, come autumn, horinca will be steeped - the traditional plum spirit. Among the oldest houses rise smart new buildings with expensive, handsome stucco work, a reminder of the modern world.
Astonishingly beautiful scenery that delights in any season! A stop at a waterfall is a must!
The acquaintance with Romania is rounded off by the town of Baia Mare, where time has stopped on the streets, bringing many epochs together.
Delicious cuisine (ciorbă, mititei, liver frigărui, kadaif). Good shopping (cheese in pine bark, remarkable wines, natural cosmetics, leather goods, Romanian knitwear, openwork porcelain, beautiful hand-embroidered tablecloths, blouses, hats ...) - a big suitcase will definitely not go to waste :))
Return to Uzhhorod.
Meeting with the guide.
A walking tour of the historic centre of ancient and forever young Uzhhorod, (if nature is kind - awash with cherry blossom). The little streets of Uzhhorod, holding within them traces of all manner of styles and epochs, lead us onward, accompanied by the aroma of coffee and the chiming of churches and cathedrals of different denominations, through the soft pink haze of Japanese cherry blossom.
Getting to know the city's charming miniature bronze sculptures .
A visit to the city's cosy coffee houses and a tasting of genuine Transcarpathian coffee . It is not for nothing that they say Lviv is famous for its coffee houses, and Uzhhorod for its coffee!
An introduction to a sacred monument of Ukraine - the oldest working church, dating from the 11th century.
An introduction to the legendary ethno-restaurant "Detsa u notaria" : the story of how it came about, the distinctive Transcarpathian humour, the colourful biography of its owner.
Lunch.
Bathing in the thermal springs at the Zolota Hora ranch.
Transfer to Uzhhorod. Transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel (or packed lunch boxes to take with you).
Optional : an excursion to the most beautiful city in Slovakia - Košice (extra charge 1499 UAH / person)
6:00 Departure from Uzhhorod. Border crossing. Transfer to the Slovak city of Košice.
Getting to know the most beautiful city in Slovakia. During the walking tour of the old city centre you will learn a great deal that is interesting and unusual, you will be able to take lovely photographs, and you will come away with wonderful impressions of your stroll through this delightful city. After all, 56 hectares of central Košice have been declared a state historical and architectural monument. By way of comparison, in Bratislava - the capital of Slovakia - only 18 hectares carry that status.
You will see the jewel of Košice, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture - St Elisabeth's Cathedral . No wonder this building took two centuries to construct! Inside you can admire the frescoes and sculptures. Artistic painting will delight you in the city theatre too, whose ceiling is decorated with scenes from Shakespeare's works. Yet despite the fantastic beauty of the churches and St Urban's bell tower, it is the charming parks with their fountains that create the atmosphere of continuous celebration in Slovakia's most beautiful city. The most remarkable of them is the singing fountain, unique in all of Europe.
For lunch we recommend the famous authentic restaurant "12 Apostles" (approx. cost from 8-9 euros).
Next you can go shopping at the huge "Optima" shopping centre or in the little shops housed in the old buildings of the historic pedestrian part of the city.
The patisseries in Košice are especially good . Ah, what strudels and pastries they have! To rest after the shopping marathon and enjoy some delicious baking, we suggest the well-known "Aida" café.
Departure from Košice. Return to Uzhhorod.
Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out from the rooms.
Departure for the excursion to the Khust area
An excursion to the Valley of Narcissi (if the Valley is in bloom; if not - bathing in the thermal pools in Veliatyno). The Valley of Narcissi is 257 hectares sown with little white stars and a heady scent in the air. Nowadays natural narcissus meadows are found only in alpine pastures. They reached the valley of the Khustets river many thousands of years ago, escaping the glacier.
Lunch.
Transfer to the village of Iza , where you can see and buy unique willow-wicker craftwork made by local masters.
An excursion around the unique farm beyond the village of Iza , where spotted deer have settled in beautifully. These wonderful animals are so used to people that they eat from your hand and happily pose for photographs with tourists.
18:00 - transfer to the railway station in Mukachevo
19.00 - transfer to the railway station in Uzhhorod.
