Tour programme
09:00 - Meeting the group at Uzhhorod railway station with a representative of the Pro Karpaty tour operator.
Departure for the excursion (luggage stays on the coach).
Transfer to the old mountain village of Lumshory.
A short walk to the small but very picturesque Solovei and Davir waterfalls.
Bathing in tubs of hydrogen sulphide water over an open fire on the bank of a mountain river. A fantastic pleasure, described as far back as by the envoys of Peter I as they made their way through the Carpathians. A huge cast-iron tub holding around 2,000 litres stands in the middle of a roofless wooden kolyba. It is filled with mineral water and heated with firewood over an open flame. A few river stones lie in the tub. You climb inside (6-8 people) while the hospitable host feeds the fire with wood and simmers you over a low flame. As soon as you feel your blood beginning to boil (although in fact the water is heated to no more than +43°C), jump out! A few steps away is an icy mountain stream - you plunge in head first, and then back into the tub. In summer and in winter alike, the procedure takes place in the open air. A pleasant, exhilarating and very beneficial treatment!
A tasting lunch at the "Pidkova" ethnic restaurant (extra charge 380 UAH per person)
Nevytske Castle - history and legends.
Transfer to Uzhhorod. Check-in at the hotel.
