Tour programme
- 10:30 - Meeting the guests at Uzhhorod railway station with a Pro Karpaty guide.
- A walking tour of the historic centre of ancient and forever young Uzhhorod , (if nature is kind, you will see the cherry blossom ). The little streets of Uzhhorod, holding within them traces of different styles and epochs, lead us onward, accompanied by the aroma of coffee and the chiming of churches and cathedrals of different denominations, through the soft pink haze of Japanese cherry blossom.
- Getting to know the city's charming miniature bronze sculptures.
- A visit to the cosy coffee houses and a t asting of genuine Transcarpathian coffee. It is not for nothing that they say Lviv is famous for its coffee houses, and Uzhhorod for its coffee!
- An introduction to a sacred monument of Ukraine - the oldest working church, dating from the 11th century.
- An introduction to the legendary ethno-restaurant Detsa u notaria : the story of how it came about, the distinctive Transcarpathian humour, the colourful biography of its owner.
- Lunch
- Bathing in the thermal pools at the Zolota Hora ranch.
- 17.00 - return to Uzhhorod. Check-in at the hotel.
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- An excursion to Synevyr.
- Transfer to Pylypets to the picturesque Shypit waterfall . Along the way everyone will have the chance to admire magnificent mountain panoramas and hear the ancient legends and tales of the mysterious Carpathians.
- Not far from Shypit, a chairlift ride up to the alpine meadows of Borzhava, to the foot of Mount Hymba , which opens up an astonishing panoramic view of the Carpathians. The mountain is 1300 metres above sea level, the lift is 1600 metres long, and the ascent takes approx. 15 minutes.
- Lunch in a kolyba. For the fullest experience we recommend the dishes of Hutsul cuisine.
- An excursion to the Mizhhiria national reserve and the highland lake Synevyr .
- An excursion to the rehabilitation centre for bears. It was built in the middle of the Carpathian mountains in the Mizhhiria area. Its area is 14 hectares. The sanctuary is designed for thirty bears. Each has been given its own den, indistinguishable from a natural one. The dens are dug into the ground and lined inside with moss and roots. On the grounds of the centre there are several artificial lakes where the bears bathe.
- Return to Uzhhorod.
- Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out from the rooms.
- An excursion to the Khust area.
- Please note! If the Valley of Narcissi is in bloom by then - an excursion to the Kireshi tract.
- The Valley of Narcissi is 257 hectares sown with little white stars and a heady scent in the air. Nowadays natural narcissus meadows are found only in alpine pastures. They reached the valley of the Khustets river many thousands of years ago, escaping the glacier.
- If the Valley is not yet in bloom by then:
- A visit to a craft cheese dairy. Here, following an old technique, they make some of the best organic cheeses in Ukraine. Guests are given a tour during which they can learn all about cheese, and also taste and buy different varieties.
- Transfer to the village of Iza, where you can see and buy unique wicker craftwork made by local masters.
- An excursion around the unique farm beyond the village of Iza, where spotted deer have settled in beautifully. These wonderful animals are so used to people that they eat from your hand and happily pose for photographs with tourists.
- Bathing in the thermal pools of Veliatyno (lunch in the canteen on the grounds of the thermal pools).
- 18:00 - transfer to the railway station in Mukachevo
- 19:00 - transfer to the railway station in Uzhhorod.
