Tour programme
- Departure from Uzhhorod at 05:30, with the pick-up in Mukachevo 45 minutes later.
- We cross the border in the morning when traffic is lighter, and enter Budapest at around 11:00.
- The guided part starts at Heroes' Square and Andrássy Avenue, then St Stephen's Basilica with its marble half-light.
- After lunch we cross to the right bank: Buda Castle, the Fisherman's Bastion and the panorama of Pest from the hill that appears on almost every postcard of the city.
- The group leader explains how the capital grew out of three separate settlements and why the two banks still keep different characters - one commercial, one fortified.
- In the evening there is an optional Danube cruise past the illuminated Parliament and Chain Bridge (paid separately), or a free walk through the centre with no schedule.
- The night is spent in a 3* hotel in Pest near a metro station, so that anyone who wishes can go back out into the city after check-in.
- After breakfast the group chooses its own plan.
- The first is the Széchenyi baths in the City Park: the capital's best-known thermal pools, where the open-air water holds its temperature even on a frosty morning (entry optional, paid separately).
- The second is the Central Market Hall and Pest on foot: an hour or two is enough to gather paprika, Tokaji wine and mangalica sausage to take home, with several patisseries serving classic cakes nearby.
- Anyone staying in the city also has time to climb the basilica dome or walk along the embankment to the Shoes on the Danube memorial.
- The group meets at 15:00 by the hotel, then sets off for the border with a technical coffee stop.
- Back in Uzhhorod at around 21:00, and in Mukachevo slightly earlier on the driver's schedule.
- The second day is deliberately left loosely planned: after a full first day people need a pace they set themselves.

Your place in the group is secured only after the manager confirms it. The prepayment depends on the product and we tell you the amount before we confirm your booking. After that we send you the itinerary, the departure time and the meeting point.
Cancellation by you.
Cancellation:
- more than 2 calendar days before the tour starts - we retain 10 % of the price;
- less than 2 calendar days - 50 %;
- no-show without notice - 100 %.

If we cancel the tour.
We offer another date, another route or an equivalent replacement - or we refund the amount you paid.
Participation terms.
Children under 14 travel only when accompanied by an adult. The number of places is limited by the size of the group.
Changes to the itinerary.
The organiser may make minor changes to the itinerary because of road, weather, technical or other circumstances.
Frequently asked questions
Travelling abroad requires a foreign passport - biometric, or with a valid visa. A domestic passport or a driving licence is not accepted at the border. Children must have their own foreign passports. Queues at the border are possible and travel time depends on them, so the schedule is approximate.
Season: all year round. The departure date is on request: we set it around group formation, which is why specific days are not published on this page. Send an enquiry and the manager will name the nearest possible dates.
The estimated ticket budget is about UAH 1,800 (to be confirmed). Entrance fees, optional extras, lunches and dinners are not included in the tour price and are paid separately on site - this keeps the price fair for those who skip some of the sights.
