Tour programme
Departure from Uzhhorod at 06:30 and from Mukachevo at 07:20, then the border and the road into western Romania.
Oradea is a city barely known in Ukraine, although its centre holds one of the fullest collections of Art Nouveau in Europe: the Black Eagle Palace with its glazed arcade under a stained-glass vault, the Apollo Palace, facades of moulded flowers and wrought-iron balconies, the restored Unirii Square and the Baroque bishop's residence.
The group leader guides the walk through the centre and explains why the city looks Hungarian and Romanian at the same time.
Time for lunch in the cafés on the square, at your own expense.
After lunch we move on to Băile Felix, less than twenty minutes away.
Check-in at a 3* hotel and a first visit to the thermal waters: the pools of natural hot water operate in the open air even in freezing weather.
The entrance ticket or resort fee is optional and paid separately.
The second day is given over entirely to the water.
After breakfast the group has several hours at the thermal pools of Băile Felix: open-air basins of naturally warm water, adult and children's areas, and places to rest between dips.
For anyone who wants more rides than quiet floating, the leader suggests an alternative - the nearby President water park with slides and indoor pools; its opening hours and the zones available are confirmed before departure, and entry is optional and paid separately.
Those who skip the water have free time in the resort park or a second walk around Oradea on their own.
Lunch is at the resort's restaurants at your own expense.
We recommend bringing your own towel, swimming cap and a change of clothes: on site these are either for hire or for sale.
After lunch the group gathers and sets off for the border: it reaches Mukachevo first and Uzhhorod at around 19:00, allowing for queues at the crossing.

Frequently asked questions
Travelling abroad requires a foreign passport - biometric, or with a valid visa. A domestic passport or a driving licence is not accepted at the border. Children must have their own foreign passports. Queues at the border are possible and travel time depends on them, so the schedule is approximate.
Season: all year round, peak October to March. The departure date is on request: we set it around group formation, which is why specific days are not published on this page. Send an enquiry and the manager will name the nearest possible dates.
The estimated ticket budget is about UAH 1,200 (to be confirmed). Entrance fees, optional extras, lunches and dinners are not included in the tour price and are paid separately on site - this keeps the price fair for those who skip some of the sights.
