Tour programme
Departure from Uzhhorod at 04:00 and from Mukachevo at 04:50.
By about 12:30 the group is already in the centre of the Austrian capital.
The guided part covers the Ring, the Hofburg, St Stephen's Cathedral and the Opera house from the outside, with the group leader talking about Viennese architecture and daily life.
Then comes free time, spent as each person prefers: some go from café to café, others along the windows of Kärntner Straße and Mariahilfer Straße, where you can already see which brands and sizes are worth hunting for more cheaply the next day.
Museums and palaces are optional; entrance tickets are paid separately.
In the evening we transfer to a 3* hotel in Győr or Mosonmagyaróvár for the night.
While still on the coach the group leader goes through the logic of day two with you: how the outlet village is laid out, where to pick up a map, how the tax refund works and who will actually need it.
Anyone planning larger purchases gets a list of the shops worth reaching first.
After breakfast we drive to the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in Parndorf, the largest outlet village in Austria: around a hundred and eighty shops laid out as open streets, from the mass market to premium labels.
Four to five hours are set aside for shopping - enough to cover both halves of the village without rushing.
The group has a common meeting point and time; the rest of the day is yours to plan. The leader stays reachable and helps with sizes, exchanges and the tax refund paperwork.
How deep the discounts go depends on the season: the January and July sales, Black Friday and the pre-Christmas week give the best prices, which is why the tour dates are tied to them.
Lunch is at the food court or a café on site, at your own expense.
We set off home once the shopping is done, with an estimated arrival in Uzhhorod at around 21:30.
Time at the border is unpredictable, so the schedule is approximate - and keep your receipts to hand.

Frequently asked questions
Travelling abroad requires a foreign passport - biometric, or with a valid visa. A domestic passport or a driving licence is not accepted at the border. Children must have their own foreign passports. Queues at the border are possible and travel time depends on them, so the schedule is approximate.
Season: sale periods. The departure date is on request: we set it around group formation, which is why specific days are not published on this page. Send an enquiry and the manager will name the nearest possible dates.
The estimated ticket budget depends on the optional extras you choose (to be confirmed). Entrance fees, optional extras, lunches and dinners are not included in the tour price and are paid separately on site - this keeps the price fair for those who skip some of the sights.
