Tour programme
- Departure from Uzhhorod at 06:30, the road through Slovakia with technical stops.
- We reach Zakopane in the afternoon and start on Krupówki, the town's main pedestrian street.
- The recognisable Podhale style survives here: wooden facades, carved balconies, shops selling wool and the smoked sheep's cheese oscypek, made and sold right on the street.
- Then the funicular up Gubałówka: the ride takes a few minutes, and from the upper station the whole Tatra ridge opens up with Giewont opposite (ticket optional, paid separately).
- The group leader shows where the resort part of town ends and the real mountain trails begin, and tells the story of Zakopane as Poland's winter capital.
- On the way to the funicular we pass villas from the early twentieth century - the years when Zakopane became the place Polish writers and painters gathered, and the town still keeps that look.
- In the evening there is free time on Krupówki: regional kitchens serving mutton roasts and sour soups, with the shops open late.
- Check-in at a 3* hotel and overnight stay.
- After breakfast we drive to Chochołów, about twenty kilometres from Zakopane.
- The thermal complex is fed by geothermal water from a deep borehole: several indoor and outdoor pools at different temperatures, an area facing the Tatras, saunas and hydromassage sections.
- The open-air section works in freezing weather too - which is the whole point of a winter visit: warm water, steam above the surface and a snow-covered ridge on the horizon.
- The entrance ticket is optional and paid separately; bring your own swimwear, cap and flip-flops.
- There are several places to eat on site, so the group spends a few unhurried hours at the complex; anyone not going into the water waits in the café area facing the ridge.
- The group leader announces the meeting time at check-in on the first day, so everyone can plan the morning as they wish.
- We set off towards the border in the afternoon, with a coffee stop on the way.
- The group is back in Uzhhorod at around 20:00; the transfer to Mukachevo is a separate paid option.

Your place in the group is secured only after the manager confirms it. The prepayment depends on the product and we tell you the amount before we confirm your booking. After that we send you the itinerary, the departure time and the meeting point.

- less than 2 calendar days - 50 %;
- no-show without notice - 100 %.

We offer another date, another route or an equivalent replacement - or we refund the amount you paid.

Children under 14 travel only when accompanied by an adult. The number of places is limited by the size of the group.
Changes to the itinerary.
The organiser may make minor changes to the itinerary because of road, weather, technical or other circumstances.
Frequently asked questions
Travelling abroad requires a foreign passport - biometric, or with a valid visa. A domestic passport or a driving licence is not accepted at the border. Children must have their own foreign passports. Queues at the border are possible and travel time depends on them, so the schedule is approximate.
Season: peak December to March. The departure date is on request: we set it around group formation, which is why specific days are not published on this page. Send an enquiry and the manager will name the nearest possible dates.
The estimated ticket budget is about UAH 1,300 (to be confirmed). Entrance fees, optional extras, lunches and dinners are not included in the tour price and are paid separately on site - this keeps the price fair for those who skip some of the sights.
