A paragliding flight - an unforgettable adventure in the sky


Paragliding, or para-gliding - is not only a thrilling and stunning sport, but also a wonderful active getaway in the Carpathians with family, friends and colleagues. No special skill or expertise is required of you to take to the sky - everything will be handled by an experienced pilot-instructor who will steer your «wings» from behind. All that is required of you - is to relax, trust the professional and enjoy the amazing mountain panoramas from a bird’s-eye view!
Paragliding belongs to the extreme sports, yet it is an absolutely safe getaway. A paraglider flies thanks to the energy of rising air currents, which allows it to climb into the sky to an altitude of up to 3 thousand metres and conquer vast distances!
The place for paragliding flights
The ideal place for paragliding in the Carpathians is the Borzhava meadows, in particular its peaks Hymba and Velykyi Verkh. This is not only the longest and most beautiful mountain ridge in the country, but also a location with the most favourable weather conditions for flights. Borzhava is convenient in terms of getting there, it has a superb aerodynamic atmosphere and no rocky outcrops. Every year the loud All-Ukrainian competitions for the Carpathian Cup are held here - quite a spectacle: the sky is dotted with hundreds of bright «single-winged» paragliders not only from all over Ukraine, but also from abroad!
The Transcarpathian villages of Pylypets or Huklyve - are the main starting points to which all pilots and tourists head to make a paragliding flight over Borzhava. A convenient cable car will carry you to the very summit with ease and comfort. It is easy to get here from Uzhhorod and Mukachevo. And not far from the flight site lies a true fairy-tale pearl of Mezhyhirya - the majestic Shypit waterfall .
Over the Borzhava meadows people fly almost every day in summer, depending on the weather conditions. Absolutely every paragliding flight takes place using the so-called tandem system: one pilot-instructor + one passenger. This is 
Before the flights, pilot-instructors study the meteorological forecasts very carefully and thoroughly, and measure the wind speed. The weather is also checked before take-off and during the ascent into the sky. In the event of an unforeseen situation, every pilot always carries a reserve rescue parachute.
Anyone who wishes can take to the sky with experienced instructors. Paragliding flights in the Carpathians take place in the warm season - from May to November.
To avoid injuries and fatalities, remember: you may fly paragliders only in favourable weather and with an experienced professional instructor whom you trust. Before each flight the pilots give a short briefing and provide the necessary gear. The dress code - is sporty and comfortable. Bring a windproof jacket, sunglasses and a headpiece (a Buff, a scarf or a hat) with you.
