Trips to the Bukovel ski resort

Trips to the Bukovel ski resort: the main attractions
Bukovel is an astonishing natural oasis, set beyond the village of Polianytsia in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, at an altitude of 900-920 m above sea level. Depending on the weather conditions, the winter season here can last from November until the end of spring. A few years ago, the Bukovel resort was recognised as the fastest-growing ski complex in the world. No one will be bored here - not the beginner, not the seasoned free-rider, not even the master of sport.
Today Bukovel has over 60 European-standard runs of absolutely every difficulty level: more than 20 blue runs - for beginners, 12 very difficult black runs, and the rest - red runs of medium difficulty. Their total length ranges from 300 to 2,300 metres, with a drop in elevation of between 40 and almost 400 m. This is the largest choice of runs and ski passes in Ukraine. There are 16 lifts in operation - drag lifts, two-, three- and four-seat chairlifts and a multilift. In just one hour the lifts can carry between 800 and 2,500 skiers and snowboarders. There are equipment rental points, ski schools for adults and children, first-aid stations, play areas and car parks. You can hire a snow groomer to get to the start of a difficult black run or for a sightseeing trip. You can even ski calmly at night - the runs are floodlit. It is extremely rare for it NOT to snow at Bukovel in winter. But just in case, modern artificial snow-making systems have been installed here.
Trips to the Bukovel ski resort are, above all:
- a variety of runs of any difficulty, and the rental of any tourist equipment;
- rides with Siberian huskies: trips with dog sled teams;
- fun and thrilling snowmobile rides;
- descents on snow tubes - inflatable sledges;
- extreme rides on snowbikes - a unique combination of skis and bicycles;
- zorbing: an extreme attraction in which you roll down the slope inside a large transparent inflatable ball (a zorb);
- winter ice-skating on Bukovel Lake;
- individual and group rides on Segway electric scooters.
- a Big Airbag: jumps from a ramp onto a huge air cushion.
- go-karting, bowling, karaoke and more.
At Bukovel there is a snow park with various features for riding, where you can take master classes from true ski and snowboard gurus. At the children’s entertainment and play centre “Leopark”, you can leave your child safely under the watchful eye of animators.
Wellness services at Bukovel
Besides the various ski attractions and entertainments, trips to the Bukovel ski resort significantly improve your health. Within the complex there is a wellness medical centre and spa centres, offering modern diagnostic, therapeutic and cosmetic services. As a balneological resort, Bukovel specialises in disorders of the musculoskeletal system, the stomach, the intestines and the urinary tract. Tourists can also drink their fill of spring water, work out in the fitness room, break a sweat in a wood-fired sauna, and “stew” in Carpathian hot tubs, whose equals are found only in Lumshory.
Bukovel offers a wide choice of accommodation - there is everything from VIP holidays to a budget weekend: hotel complexes, VIP residences, cosy chalets and cottages. You certainly won’t go hungry here: several restaurants offer European, Transcarpathian and Halych cuisine, fast-food outlets, lounge areas, taverns, panoramic bars, cafés, pizzerias and round-the-clock shops.
Bukovel in summer
The Bukovel resort “never sleeps” in summer either. In the warm season it offers active and relaxing recreation on Molodist Lake, super-jeep car tours, bicycle hire, horse riding, fishing, fly-surfing, jet-ski rides, water-skiing, wakeboarding, diving, paintball, karaoke, quad-bike tours, bowling, rafting, and walking excursions and hikes. There is a beach on the mountain lake, a cycling and extreme-sports park, sports grounds, a climbing wall, gazebos and a children’s entertainment centre. All year round, children can holiday at the international children’s camp “Artek-Bukovel”.
What else is there to see? Enjoy the astonishing mountain scenery, take a stroll through the Carpathian forest, and visit Yaremche or Vorokhta, the waterfalls, the ancient Hutsul architectural monuments and the century-old viaducts. Head to the Kosyno thermal waters in Berehove, to the beautiful Uzh Valley, the aristocratic Schönborn Park, royal Vynohradiv, Lake Synevyr and the Borzhava meadows, the deer farm and the eco-cheese dairy, and on an excursion to the famous castles of Transcarpathia, to Mukachevo and Uzhhorod. Trips to the Bukovel ski resort will bring you a wealth of enjoyment, vivid adventures and unforgettable impressions!
