It is the period from late April to mid-May (often called the «May holidays») that brings the greatest number of tourists to the Transcarpathian region across the whole year. There are two reasons for this popularity at once: the blooming of the Valley of Narcissi in the town of Khust and the blooming of the sakura (Japanese cherry) in Uzhhorod. For the sake of this stunning spectacle in May, thousands of Ukrainians and foreigners set all their affairs aside and come to Transcarpathia. And what adds to the uniqueness of this May tour is the fact that, apart from its homeland - Japan - you can enjoy the blooming sakura only in Uzhhorod.
