The Schönborn park in Voievodyno - is a copy of the famous seventeenth-century Austrian park. In those distant times the Transcarpathian lands were ruled by representatives of the ancient aristocratic German-Austrian Schönborn family. The Schönborns loved luxury and imperial splendour, valued beauty and had good taste. From their own legacy they left another architectural masterpiece of national significance, one of the most famous castles of Transcarpathia - the palace of the Counts Schönborn in the Berehvar tract, not far from the town of Mukachevo.

The Schönborn park in Voievodyno enchants with its symbolism. It is - a tribute to the fashion of the time, when the astronomical sciences were at the peak of their fame all over the world. The main gates of the park - are a kind of portal between the present and the past, between Ukraine and Austria-Hungary. The large spires on the gates symbolise the seasons, the small ones - the months. The seven lanterns along the path - are the days of the week, while the graceful wrought-iron bridges over the stream - the 12 signs of the zodiac.
The keeper of the aristocratic spirit of Voievodyno is the baroque bridge of the four Evangelists. Having crossed the bridge, you step onto the Way of the Cross, or Via Dolorosa, and beyond - the church of St Catherine.
Tur lake
The true adornment of the Schönborn park in Voievodyno is the picturesque Tur lake. In the middle of the lake sits a small island, its shape - an exact copy of the outline of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the days of the Habsburgs, and these borders are laid out with 365 stone blocks, symbolising the 365 days of the year. By evening, 24 lanterns light up around the lake, as many as there are hours in a day. On the shore of the reservoir you can rest on 22 benches bearing the coats of arms of the states to which Transcarpathia once belonged throughout its entire history.
Not far from the lake is a Celtic garden and a druids’ calendar. Here grow 12 trees corresponding to people’s dates of birth. It is said that you need only touch your own tree - and you will at once feel the energy of nature. And recently a Celtic druid has settled here - a mini-sculpture by the renowned Transcarpathian sculptor Mykhailo Kolodko, whose miniatures have become something of a hallmark of Uzhhorod. On the lakeshore you can also see the working stone mill of Saint Jan , the patron of millers.
To be here and NOT to try fishing - is simply a crime. On the grounds of the Voievodyno resort there are 5 trout ponds and carp.
